Flowerin’ White Swan, c. 2020

Flowerin’ White Swan represents innocence in its most luminous form, basking in the purity of the spotlight. Inspired by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, the painting reflects the tension between light and shadow that exists within the human psyche. While the White Swan stands in a moment of grace and apparent serenity, darker forces quietly surround her—scheming, observing, and waiting. This work draws from the artist’s personal journey with mental health and inner conflict, exploring the fragile balance between vulnerability and strength. The piece also pays tribute to the artist’s deep love for dance, theater, and cultural storytelling, while symbolizing the constant presence of an opposing force even in moments of purity and triumph.
